PLAYER OF THE WEEK

We believe in a positive hockey experience for all participants, skill development, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity and teamwork... and we like to celebrate when we see great examples of this! Each week, one KLMHA player who has demonstrated these qualities will be selected to be recognized. The will be featured on our website, our Facebook Page and will take home a KLMHA t-shirt.

Alex Jordan

Congratulations Alex Jordan, of the Lifestyles Home Décor Bantam Blue Devils team! Alex stepped into goal after not playing for two years and helped carry the team to the finals in their playdowns. Alex not only stepped up when help was needed but he had his first shutout of the year in his second game and followed that up with two goals against in two games. Great team spirit and effort, Alex!

Congratulations Trenton McLean, of the Workplace Safety North Novice Blue Devils team! Trenton played two solid games over the weekend with a total of 2 goals and 2 Assists. We were down 5-4 and Trenton scored the tying goal with only 19 seconds left in the third period which gave us a point instead of a loss. Trenton is a true team player and gives it his all while one the ice. He always has a smile on his face which is contagious and developing a true love for the game. Keep it up, Trenton!

This week we had a 3 way tie!
Winner #3: Congratulations Charlie Merrill, of the Workplace Safety North Novice Blue Devils team! Charlie played defence as we were short and adapted easily and played three strong games over the weekend and contributed to the scoreboard with 1 goal and 2 assists. He has a positive attitude and is always willing to help his teammates. Great job, Charlie!

Winner #2: Congratulations Maddy Perrier, of the Alamos Gold Pewee Blue Devils team! Maddy played a solid defence, worked hard every shift, mentors her defence partner who is a Peewee call up and allowed zero goals this weekend while she was on the ice. Great work, Maddy!

This week we had a 3 way tie!
Winner #1: Congratulations Kalob Fox, of the Kohut Electric Novice Blue Devils team! The team travelled on Saturday to Iroquois Falls where they played two games. Although two tough losses for the squad, Kalob played stellar in between the pipes, making several key saves! Specifically, in the game against Cochrane, Kalob faced many, many shots and kept his team in the game by being excellent in net. On Sunday, the team went 1-1 at home. Kalob’s strong performance, again making several fantastic saves, helped secure the victory over Iroquois Falls.  Kalob was nominating not only for his efforts this past weekend but for his consistent, strong gameplay this entire season. Congratulations Lincoln Rainville, of the Kirkland Lake Volunteer Fire Brigade Atom Blue Devils team! Link lead the team in two big wins after a 2 on 2 overtime period in two different games to win the Semi and Consolation finals. The second OT win resulted in the team taking the Gold medal in the C Division in the PMHA Winter Carnival Tournament this weekend. Keep up the hard work, Lincoln!

Congratulations Clark Lance, of the Lakeshore Motors Novice Blue Devils team!  Clark played 5 solid games in net for his team over the weekend during the Sudbury Winter Blast Tournament! He helped his team to the finals earning himself 2 shut outs, and along the way, even earned himself his first assist as he poke checked the puck up to a fellow teammate who completed the play with the goal! It was anyone’s game in the tournament final with KL Lakeshore against KL Kohut Electric and Clark managed to make some key saves to clinch the win with his team! Aside from his stellar performance this weekend on the ice he is always a positive team member and friend! Keep up the great work Clark!
KLMHA - Player of the Week Mason Crickard

Mason Crickard

Congratulations Mason Crickard, of the KLMHA Novice Blue Devils team! Mason helped lead his team to the finals in this past weekend's MGI Collision Novice & Atom Tournament (KLMHA). Not only did he play a solid game of defence, he lit up the scoreboard not once but twice in the Gold medal game, with his second point being the deciding goal in 4 on 4 overtime with only just over two minutes left on the clock! Mason's attitude throughout the season has been happy and positive making him an all-around great hockey player and team member! Keep up the great work Mason!

Congratulation Reed Gregorich, of the Kohut Electric Novice Blue Devils team! Reed stepped up for his team and strapped on the goalie gear for the first time in game play for the A division! He made over 100 saves this weekend in the Iroquois Falls Novice Tournament and helped to keep his team in the game! He also played out as player for two other games showing how he is an all-around team player and did it all with a great attitude! Great job Reed!

Congratulations Levi Collins, of The Prospectors Inn Novice team. Levi has just started hockey this season, learning to skate with kids who have been playing hockey for up to 5 years already. He never gives up & works so hard with a constant smile. Every time he falls, he immediately gets back up & keeps giving it 100%. The amount of improvement seen is amazing - your hard work is paying off tenfold, Levi!
