Respect in Sports – Parents Program
The NOHA’s Respect in Sport Parent Program is an online training program for parents of children in hockey.
The program must be completed before any player hits the ice. The program needs to be completed once per household. This means, that if you have one player and you complete the program for that player and then later register a second player for hockey, you don’t need to complete the course again. However, you do need to add the additional player to your online profile.
This certification program is separate from and compliments Respect in Sport for Coaches/Activity Leaders by reinforcing a parents role in a child or youth’s activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours, and providing insight into the various roles other individuals (such as coaches and officials) play.
This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child’s fun and camaraderie of the activity.
